Here are some simple steps to help your school reduce waste:

• Implement a school wide education programme about zero waste.
• Reduce the amount of potential waste brought to school.
• Reuse as many materials as possible.
• Recycle - paper, plastics, tins, cans, glass, printer cartridges.
• Collect food scraps and feed to worms, pigs, or chickens.
• Collect biodegradable materials and compost.
• Implement an environmental policy.
• Respect and Responsibility - teach these as key virtues.
