Maui's Dolphin Day and the Recycled Raft Race 2012

What ? - Wild, wet, fun event, where people build rafts out of recycled materials and race up the harbour in what has become a highly competive annual Raglan event. However, its not just about being the fastest raft, there are prizes for best dressed, best new raft, most creative, best message, best junior and even prizes just for entering. The main thing is to have lots of fun. We do encourage racers to get dressed up too (but no shoes or heavy clothes ie jeans muct be worn)
The Rules
Rafts must be made out of at least 80% recycled materials inlcuding the paddles. No fragile materials which could break off whilst racing are allowed.
All competitors must wear approved lifejackets
All competitors must be present for a safety check and race briefing 1 hour prior to the race
All competitors must have fun
All competitors muct be registered and signed a disclaimer form
No parts of the raft should be left behind or allowed to sink in the harbour
